In addition to defining the progress steps in the sales process, it’s also smart to determine in advance which probability of success applies to each specific step. You link the progress step to a probability via the settings, so that the percentage is always automatically filled in within a sales process.
As the term 'progress' indicates, these are only the steps typically found in a successful sales process. By default, the options Scored and Lost are included. When you select these, the sales process is actually converted from 'Open' to either 'Scored' or 'Lost'.
Creating and Editing Progress Steps
The progress steps along with their associated probabilities can be created and modified via: Settings > Sales > Deal stage:
A number of default progress steps are preconfigured. You can modify or delete these, or add new ones. You can assign a color to each progress step so that you can easily distinguish them within Sales!
