In Simplicate, your invoice proposals are automatically generated from your project setup and any recorded hours and costs. You can read exactly how that works in this article.
If you don't want to create a project for a specific service but want to send a separate, one-time invoice, you can. We advise you to work through a project as much as possible, as this provides the best overview in your reports, among other things. However, sometimes a separate invoice is a better option. For example, if you send an invoice to your neighbors once a year because they rent a parking space from you.
An invoice can be manually created via Invoices > Draft Invoices. Click on '+ New' in the top right of the tab and then select who you want to invoice. It is still possible to link a project from here, but if this is desired, we recommend doing this via the project itself and adding the service you want to charge there.
Then choose an 'Invoice template' and if you have multiple company profiles, you also need to select 'My company'. Once everything is filled in, you can click the 'Add' button:
In the next screen, go to the 'Services' tab to add the service you want to invoice. From this tab, click 'New' to configure the service to be invoiced:
After you have filled in all the details for the service, choose 'Save'. Then navigate back to the 'Draft Invoice' tab to actually send the invoice to the customer.
Do you want a colleague to review the draft invoice? That's certainly possible. Changes you make via 'Properties' or 'Send invoice' are neatly saved. This includes email addresses in the CC or adding an attachment. The changes are saved neatly, so your colleague only needs to do the final check, and the invoice can be sent.
Once the invoice is deemed correct, send it via 'Send invoice'. After sending the invoice, you will find it under the 'All invoices' tab. If no project is linked, you will only see the relationship to which the invoice is linked. If a project is linked, it will, of course, also be displayed.
If a project is selected, the services on the invoice will be added to the selected project. These services are added as a fixed-price service on which no hours are recorded.
