Not every service is equally billable — advisory hours are highly billable, for example, while development hours often are not. To keep your organization healthy, finding the right balance is key. The Billability by service report helps with this, including insight into trends over time and the distribution across services, projects, and clients.
Report structure
At the top is the filter bar; below it the KPI Total billable in period, the chart Development per month, the charts Distributed by project and by service, the charts Distributed by client and by hour type, and the Detail view (the table).
Development per month
Tracks the billable value per month. If you select a two-year period, you can see whether the selling value is increasing, decreasing, or fluctuating in a fixed cycle.

Shows which projects generate the most billable value, so you can see where the bulk of your billable hours lies.
Total billable value in period, distributed by service
Shows which services generate the most selling value. Click a service to update all other charts accordingly, so you can see the trends and totals per service.
Total billable value in period, distributed by client
Shows the billable value per client. Zoom in on a large client to see which services are delivered there and which ones are the most billable.
Distributed by hour type
Shows the billable value per hour type, so you can see which type of work generates the most value.
Detail view
Where the charts show aggregated data, the Detail view shows the numbers per period and per service. Use Columns to choose which columns are visible and Export to download the data.

How 'Total billable in period' is calculated
This KPI is the total selling value of everything logged as hours in the period, minus the corrections on those time entries. If more hours have been written up than written off, this has a positive effect. The difference between this value and the value excluding corrections is the corrected value in the period.
