In addition to rates and services, budgets of services can also be indexed. The options for indexing budgets can be found under Settings > Projects > Indexing > ‘Service budgets’ tab.
On the right-hand side, various filter options are available. This allows you to more quickly make the desired selection(s) to index.
Always index the rates/services first, and then the budgets to avoid duplicate work. You can choose to index based on:
Recalculate budget based on current rates
This option recalculates the total budget based on the hourly rates assigned to the service. Before doing this, make sure that the hourly rates have been indexed to avoid duplicate work.
Index budget by a percentage
This option indexes the rates by a certain percentage, which can be either positive or negative.
The indexation concerns the total budget assigned to a service. To be able to index a service’s budget, registrations must be possible on the service. This means that hour registration and/or cost registration must be enabled.
