At Simplicate, the security of your data always comes first. Our Login policy is designed with that in mind. To ensure your Simplicate account is as secure as possible, you can choose to enable an extra strong password policy.
Password Requirements in Simplicate
The password you set for your Simplicate account must meet the following requirements:
At least 10 characters
The password must not appear in any known compromised password database
In addition to these basic requirements, password strength is assessed based on entropy. Entropy is a measure of how unpredictable or difficult a password is to guess. The more variation in characters, length, and randomness you use, the higher the entropy — and therefore, the stronger and safer your password.
Settings in the Login Policy
To configure your Login policy, go to Settings → Account → Account settings → Login policy. Here, you can choose from the following options:
Allow sign in through Google:
Sign in with Google allows your users to log in with their Google accounts, if they have one. The email address of the Google account must match the one entered in Simplicate for that user.
Allow sign in through Microsoft:
Sign in with Microsoft allows your users to log in with their Microsoft accounts, if they have one. The email address of the Microsoft account must match the one entered in Simplicate for that user.
Allow password sign-in:
If you have another sign in method set up, like Sign in with Google, you can disable regular login with passwords. This will force them to use their Google accounts, and you can enforce stricter account policies in Google.
Password expiration:
The validity period of a password determines after which period the user is required to set a new password.
Prevent reuse of previous passwords:
This setting prevents the user from saving a previously used password when changing their password.
Enforce extra strong passwords:
This setting increases the minimum password strength to 'extra strong'
Minimum password length:
Allows you to enforce a minimum password length, regardless of strength.
You can set this between 10 and 32 characters.
On this page, you will also find the option to adjust the duration of login sessions. In the article below, you will find how to adjust this duration for all users:
Our Recommendations
Use a password manager to easily generate and store strong, unique passwords.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security.
If you log in using Google or Microsoft, you can safely use those accounts to access Simplicate.
Setting a Password
If you receive an invitation to join a Simplicate environment or an email to reset your password, you can create a new password. On this page, you’ll see a strength bar that indicates how strong your password is.
Passwords in Simplicate must meet at least the minimum strength level.
If your organization uses the extra strong password policy, your password must reach the extra strong level. The more variation in characters and randomness you include, the higher the entropy — and the stronger your password.
Logging in via Google or Microsoft
It’s also possible to log in using your Google or Microsoft account.
If you want to enable the Login with Google feature, the user’s Google email address must be linked to their Simplicate account. The same applies if you want to use Microsoft login.
