When you forgot to close services on closed projects, you can close all services on this project by copying these projects. You can then easily remove the copied projects and services collectively. This can be especially useful if, for example, you did not terminate subscription services and want to remove these subscription periods from your invoicing module. In this article, we explain step by step how you can do this.

Note: This applies to all services on the project. The end date entered on other services will also be exceeded by the new end date.

Copy projects and close services

Step 1:

Select (collectively) the projects where services need to be closed, via actions > copy:

Step 2:

  • Optionally choose an end date for the project.

    • This is not necessary for already closed projects, these will remain closed. The entered end date will overwrite the current end date.

  • Choose an end date for the service(s) (the entered end date will overwrite the current end date of all services on the project).

  • Give the new project a different name, for example ‘Delete’.

  • Copy the project:

Step 3:

  • Deleting projects is quite a drastic action. Therefore, make sure:

    • That you search in the search bar for the projects with the name ‘Delete’.

    • You can also filter by ‘Date created’. This way you only display the projects that were, for example, created today:

  • You can then collectively select the projects, and via actions > delete:

After these steps, you have closed the services on the copied projects and assigned an end date for time registration. If you would like to know more about the process of closing projects, and what to keep in mind when closing a project, take a look at the article below:
