The capacity planning revolves around scheduling hours — but how are things looking financially? The report Value of planned assignments per employee shows the value of all scheduled time and how it relates to the target set per employee. This way you can see ahead whether enough value has been scheduled to meet your targets.
The report looks ahead from today: it shows all future assignments and targets, including today. Capacity planning data goes back up to 6 months and up to 2 years ahead.
Report layout
At the top is the filter bar; below it a block with totals (Total), the chart Totals in selected period broken down by month, the charts Broken down by employee and By manager, and the Detail view (the table).
Totals in selected period, broken down by month
Compares the planned value against the target per month. This shows you in which months you are still below target and where you have scheduled enough.
Broken down by employee
Shows the planned value relative to the target per employee, so you can see who still has capacity in their schedule.
By manager
Groups the same view by manager, so you can compare at team level.
Detail view
The table shows the planned value and target per employee. Use Columns to choose which columns are visible, and use Export to download the data.

KPIs
KPI | Description |
Planned value (direct) | The selling value of all scheduled direct assignments in the period (scheduled hours × selling rate). |
Productivity target (value) | The target value, determined by the productivity target on the employee's schedule. |
Planned value (direct) vs. target | The difference between the planned value and the target. A positive value means more time still needs to be scheduled to meet the target; a negative value means more has been scheduled than the target. |

Filters
Use Add filter to add filters; use Reset filters to clear all filters. Choose how far ahead you look: the more months you select, the more target is expected — and typically fewer assignments are scheduled in proportion. For example, if you expect €100,000 in revenue each month and you plan two months ahead, select two months to weigh the target against the planned value.

How values are calculated
Planned value
The value of the assignments is the number of scheduled hours × the selling rate. That rate is either the employee's rate or the rate of the hour type the assignment is based on, depending on the project setting.
Note: Assignments sync to Insights overnight. Discrepancies between the capacity planning and Insights are often caused by this.
Productivity target (value)
The target value is determined by the productivity target on the employee's schedule:
The number of hours an employee is expected to work according to their schedule × the selling rate on the schedule × the productivity target in %.
Example: someone works 32 hours per week, with a selling rate of €100 and a productivity target of 75%. The target value is then 32 × €100 × 0.75 = €2,400.
