Insights: Hours per project – Hours per hour type

This report provides insight into the distribution of all logged hours, both productive and unproductive.

The report Hours per hour type shows how all registered hours relate to each other. It gives you a month-by-month view of the balance between productive hours, indirect time, leave, and absence relative to the schedule.


Report structure

At the top is the filter bar; below it the chart Hours per Month and the Detail View (the table).


Hours per Month

Shows the registered hours per month, broken down by category. This gives you insight into how the balance between direct, indirect, leave, and absence hours develops over the year.


Detail View

The table shows hours per category and hour type. Use Columns to choose which columns are visible, and Export to download the data.

Hours spent

The number of registered hours in the category/hour type.

The four categories

All registered hours fall into one of these categories:


Scheduled hours

The total number of scheduled hours; shows the extent of complete time registration.


Direct hours

All hours registered on projects where invoice is set to Yes in the project settings — regardless of whether they are billable or not. These are all productive hours.


Indirect hours

All hours registered on internal projects where invoice is set to No (internal project).


Leave

All leave entries, including vacation and public holidays.


Absence

All hours registered on an absence type.


Filters

The filter bar sits at the top of the dashboard group and applies to all reports in Hours per project. Use Add filter to add filters; use Reset filters to reset everything. If you then switch tabs, the next report keeps the same selection.
