Absence can be registered by users who have been granted the appropriate permissions in the user groups. The most common practice is for the HRM responsible to record the absence on behalf of the employee:
You can register an employee's absence in HRM by adding a new item under the 'Absence' tab:
Often, you may not be able to indicate when the absence will end: in that case, check the box ‘End date unknown’. You can enter the correct end date later.
Absence registration by employee
As an organization, you can also choose to allow the employee to register their own absence in their calendar. Grant the employee the appropriate permissions in the user group for this.
An employee can then register absence in their calendar or timesheet. Select the internal project for ‘Absence’:
This is then directly processed in the employee's absence balance:
The employee's absence balance displays the number of absence hours taken by the employee that year. The percentage indicates how this absence relates to the number of hours worked.
