At Settings > Hours > Register, you can configure the settings related to time registration:
Display for time registration
We can’t make it more fun, but we can make it easier! That’s why we’ve put a lot of effort into how you can plan/register your hours in Simplicate.
With this setting, you determine for the entire company through which method the hours must/can be registered:
Calendar
Timesheet
User’s choice
When you leave the choice to the user, everyone can decide for themselves via their profile (top right in Simplicate).
Calendar view
Here you set the default view for everyone. Each user can still deviate from this setting:
Day
Week
Work week
Start time in calendar
This is literally the ‘from’ time in the calendar. No time can be registered earlier than this time.
End time in calendar
This is literally the ‘end’ time in the calendar. No time can be registered later than this time.
Note: if you don’t want to set a limit here, enter 23:59. Do not enter 0:00!
Minimum time registration in minutes
This is the minimum number of minutes that must be entered by the employee. For example, if you log 10 minutes and the setting is set to 15 minutes, Simplicate will give a notification that the minimum time registration is 15 minutes.
Preferred time step in calendar (in minutes)
The number of minutes you specify here is the interval with which time is registered in the register tab of the calendar view.
Every time block you create with this setting will be at least this long, regardless of the zoom level. If you want to make the block longer, it will automatically be enlarged by the set interval.
If you use a timer in the Simplicate browser extension, it will also be rounded to the interval entered here.
With this setting, you are required to register according to the time steps. This cannot be deviated from.
Note: this applies to all places where time is registered!
If this setting is active, it is no longer possible to use the two-way calendar integration. Active integrations are automatically converted to one-way synchronization. Appointments from an external calendar will still be displayed in the Simplicate calendar.
Enforce preferred time step
Do you want to ensure that employees register a certain number of minutes at a time? Then choose ‘yes’.
With this setting, you can enforce the set interval. For example, if you have set an interval of 15 minutes, employees will only be able to register time in steps of 15 minutes.
When this setting is set to ‘no’, the set interval is still used, but employees can manually deviate from it.
This setting also applies in the browser extension, so you can enforce the interval there as well.
Use location in calendar
Yes
No
When you set this option to Yes, you can enter a location in the calendar view. You always have two options for the location: your own company’s, or the customer’s. The location in the calendar has no further function and is not linked to anything else.
Hours review
The time control functionality provides the ability to review and approve hours. By enabling this feature, hours registered on a time and expenses basis must first be approved before they are marked as ready for invoicing.
